Mandamus

Jarvis v. Florida Department of Corrections, ___ So. 3d ___, 35 Fla. L. Weekly D1865 (Fla. 1st DCA 8/18/10)

In response to a petition for writ of mandamus, the appellate court ordered the circuit court to rule within a reasonable time, not to exceed thirty days, on the petitioner’s petition for writ of mandamus. [Editor’s Note:  How is that for irony, having to file a petition for writ of mandamus in the appellate court to compel the trial court to rule on a petition for writ of mandamus in the trial court?]
